Czech Republic:
Declaration contained in a Note verbale from the Czech Republic, handed over at the time of deposit of the instrument of ratification, on 8 September 2000 - Or. Engl./Tch.
In accordance with Article 1 of the Protocol the Czech Republic notifies that the Czech Republic is a contracting Party to the Convention relating to the Status of Refugees, adopted on 28 July 1951 at Geneva and to the Protocol relating to the Status of Refugees adopted on 31 January 1967 at New York.
For the purpose of meeting obligations under the Protocols to the European Interim Agreements, the term "refugee" shall have the meaning ascribed to it in the declaration made by the Czech Republic at the time of ratification of the said Convention of 1951 and Protocol of 1967.

Lithuania:
Declaration contained in a Note Verbale from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, dated 11 November 1997, handed over to the Secretary General at the time of signature of the instrument, on 19 November 1997 - Or. Engl.
In respect of the Protocol to the European Interim Agreement on Social Security Schemes relating to Old Age, Invalidity and Survivors (ETS No. 12A), the Republic of Lithuania declares that the term "refugee" shall be assigned the definition set out in Article 1, paragraph B, subparagraph b, of the Convention relating to the Status of Refugees signed at Geneva on 28 July 1951 and ratified by the Republic of Lithuania on 21 January 1997.
